AI readiness glossaryThe words behind the verdict. Defined plainly.
Every term we use in a memo, defined for a CEO rather than a data engineer: what it means, how we measure it, and what it can and can’t tell you. To see the terms in use, read the real sample memo; for the full method, see our approach.

The Truth Score
The two reads behind every verdict.
- The Truth Score Truth Score™ The Truth Score™ is DataTruth’s score out of 100 for how far a company’s data can be trusted, built from six weighted pillars and placed in one of four bands, A to D. Read the definition
- The Truth Score Leverability read The Leverability read says which AI ideas your data can use now, which need fixes first, and which it can’t support at all, with the reason in your own records. Read the definition
The six pillars
What the Truth Score™ measures, and how much each counts.
- 22% of the Truth Score™ Data accuracy Data accuracy is whether the values in your records are correct: real emails, valid dates, plausible amounts, and one record per real customer rather than three. Read the definition
- 18% of the Truth Score™ Data completeness Data completeness is whether the fields an AI use case depends on are actually filled in, on enough records, for long enough, to be worth acting on. Read the definition
- 18% of the Truth Score™ Data governance Data governance is whether someone owns each record and field, keeps it current and can show what changed: owners, lifecycle, freshness and audit trails. Read the definition
- 16% of the Truth Score™ Data consistency Data consistency is whether the same thing is recorded the same way, across records and systems: formats, categories, units and dates that agree. Read the definition
- 14% of the Truth Score™ Data connectivity Data connectivity is whether records link up across systems: whether a customer in the CRM can be matched to the same customer in billing, and a person in HR to the accounts they own. Read the definition
- 12% of the Truth Score™ Data lineage Data lineage is whether a number can be traced back to where it came from: which system, which records and which changes produced it. Read the definition
Method
How records are compared, and what you get at the end.
- Method Entity resolution Entity resolution is working out which records, in one system or across several, refer to the same real customer, person, supplier or deal, even when they are spelt differently. Read the definition
- Method Cross-system reconciliation Cross-system reconciliation is matching records between systems, such as CRM and billing, or HR and the CRM, to find where they disagree. Every system can look clean on its own; the truth is in the gaps between them. Read the definition
- Method Remediation roadmap A remediation roadmap is a prioritised list of data fixes, each with an owner, an effort estimate and a “done when” test, written to hand to your own team or any outside firm. Read the definition
- Method Plan test A plan test reads a business plan, growth strategy, value creation plan or investment thesis, pulls out the AI plays in it and the growth targets that lean on them, and shows play by play whether the data they need is there and can be trusted. Read the definition
AI readiness
The wider terms, defined without the vendor noise.
- AI readiness AI readiness AI readiness is whether a company’s data can support the specific AI it is about to pay for: whether the data can be trusted, and whether it can run that use case. Read the definition
- AI readiness AI readiness assessment An AI readiness assessment is any structured check of whether a company can support AI before it invests. The useful ones test the data itself, against the specific AI being proposed. Read the definition
- AI readiness Data quality Data quality is how far data is fit for the job it is about to do: correct, filled in, consistent, owned, connected across systems and traceable to its source. Read the definition
