For operating partners
AI proposals arrive from every company. Read them all the same way.
Vendors pitch your portfolio companies one at a time, and every proposal assumes the data is fine. Nobody has checked. Start with one company: a Truth Score Read on the proposal in front of it. Then use the same method on the next, so your investment committee compares like with like.
Starts with a 30-minute call. Commits you to nothing.
Proposals across a portfolio, each read on one method. Illustrative example, not a client.
Real sample
See the memo a portfolio company would receive. A full Truth Score Read on 72,837 records in 7 exports from CRM, finance and HR. It scored 59 out of 100, Band C, significant work needed: 823 finance customers with no CRM account, and only 13% of deals reconcile to invoices.

The job
The ambition is portfolio-wide. The data is company by company.
-
Everyone is asking about AI
Boards want visible initiatives, investors ask what the portfolio is doing, and every company has a vendor at the door.
-
Every company answers differently
One management team self-assesses, another trusts the vendor, a third commissions a consultancy that will also run the project.
-
You can’t check each one yourself
Matching CRM, billing and finance exports record by record across a portfolio isn’t an operating partner’s week. It is ours, a limited number of reads at a time.
How it scales
Start with one company. Keep the method.
The first read isn’t a trial run. It is the full Truth Score Read, and every read after it uses the same pillars and rules.
- 01
One company, one proposal
The AI proposal closest to signing, with exports from two or more systems. A signed memo within 5 working days of complete exports.
- 02
The next company, same method
Same pillars, same rules, same caps, so a 64 is built the same way at each company. Where a pillar is not assessed, the memo says so.
- 03
Plans tested where it matters
Where a company’s plan leans on several AI bets, the AI Investment Review tests every one and writes the roadmap.
- 04
Tracked by the company
Leadership can take AI Value Tracking: a quarterly re-read of whether the data under each AI investment is still holding up, bought by them and shared with their board.
IC-ready output
One page your committee can act on.
Engineering findings don’t belong in an investment committee. The memo leads with the verdict and the evidence behind it, in plain language, with the detail underneath for the team that has to deliver.

The verdict first
Sign, fix first or walk away, signed off in writing.
The evidence under it
The Truth Score™ (a score out of 100 for how far the data can be trusted), the Leverability read (which AI plays the data can run now, after fixes, or not at all; nothing to do with debt) on the AI in question, and the red flags between systems, with record counts.
What rides on it
Each play sits beside the plan target that leans on it. We use the targets in your plan. We don’t value the plays ourselves.
What it takes to fix
Each gap with an owner, an effort estimate and a test for done, so the fix can be planned and priced by whoever does it.
What wasn’t checked
A scope line on every memo. A pillar with no signal is marked not assessed, never guessed.
Why your IC can rely on it
Everyone in the room gains if the company signs. We gain nothing either way.
We sell no AI, no software and no fixes. We take no referral fees, commissions or margin from anyone. Our fee is fixed before we start, so a ‘sign’ pays us exactly what a ‘walk away’ does.
Where you start
One proposal at one company.
Start with a Truth Score Read on the proposal closest to signing. Where a company’s plan leans on several AI bets, the AI Investment Review tests them all. Through the hold, the company’s own leadership can take AI Value Tracking. Advising a company alongside a fractional CFO or COO? Bring them in too.
Every fee fixed and agreed before we start. None moves with the verdict.

Questions
What operating partners ask first.
What an operating partner asks before putting a portfolio company in front of us.
Book the callWho commissions it: the fund or the company?
Either. You can commission the first Truth Score Read on a company’s AI proposal, or the company can. The memo is written for the company’s CEO or CFO as well as for you, because they make the decision and own the fixes. AI Value Tracking is always bought by the company’s own leadership.
How will management take it?
The read is designed to be about the data and the proposal, not management’s judgement. Every finding comes with the records behind it, and management sees all of it, at the walk-through, before anything goes to your committee.
Can you read several companies at once?
We take a limited number of reads at a time, so every red flag is checked by hand. For a portfolio we agree a sequence, one or two companies in parallel, each memo within 5 working days of complete exports.
Who actually does the work?
Our engine matches the customers, people, deals and invoices across the exports a company sends. Every red flag is checked by hand against sample records before sign-off. That is why we take a limited number of reads at a time.
Do you replace our value creation or data team?
No. We provide the independent read and the fix list. Your team, the company’s team or any firm they choose does the work.
You’re new. Why should we trust the verdict?
We are new, and we would rather say so. That is why the method is published, including the cap that stops strong pillars hiding a weak one. Every finding points to records you can check yourself, and the scope line says exactly what we didn’t check. You can stop at the memo; nothing obliges you to go further. Our first clients get a founding rate in exchange for a private reference call once they’re happy, only with their consent. We never name a client, fund or target publicly without written consent.
Do you put our data into an AI model?
The Truth Score is rule-based: the same data, scored on the same date, gives the same score, and no AI model decides it. We do use a language model (Anthropic’s Claude, through its commercial API) to read the plan or proposal you send and to help draft the memo’s wording from our findings. A person checks every line before it reaches you. If you’d rather we didn’t use it on your engagement, say so and we do that part by hand.
Will you fix what you find?
No. We never fix what we find. You get a prioritised fix list with an owner, an effort estimate and a test for done on every item, written to hand to your own team or any outside firm.
What happens to our data?
It arrives as exports only, under NDA and our data processing agreement. No logins and nothing installed. The full list of sub-processors comes with our data processing agreement, before any data moves. Any transfer outside the EU is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses. Raw exports are deleted after the engagement; we keep quality metrics, not your records.
What does it cost?
A fixed fee, agreed before we start, that never moves with the verdict. It is a small fraction of the proposal it tests; if it wouldn’t be, we’ll tell you on the call.
